There are people that are governed by intellectual decisions rather than by emotional decisions. For example, boys and girls. The majority of boys make their decisions based on what they think is right or the best thing to do while the majority of girls make their decisions based on what they feel in their heart. This is one of the reasons it can be difficult for a boy and a girl to have communication. It can also affect a person very severely, but it can be a good thing as well.
Like most boys, they are governed by intellectual decisions. This can be a good thing because they do not really take anything to the heart. So making decisions would be so much easier. For example, if they were to get broken up with or planned on breaking up with a significant other, it would not affect them as much as it should. They would make their decisions based on what they think is right.
Unlike most guys, most girls are governed by emotional decisions. Because of this, many of these girls take little things to the heart. Going back to my example from before, if a girl were to be broken up with, they would most likely take it deeply to the heart. Also, if they were to break up with their significant other, it would be for a understandable reason.

Oh love, how I love you.
There are plenty of reasons people need companionship, love, and affection. One reason is so they can have someone to talk about their problems. Everyone goes through rough times in life and always feel the need to have comfort from others. Because of this, everyone should have someone there to listen to them in their times of need or just to be there. An example of this is when someone loses a family member. That person may feel depressed, upset, mad, or devastated. Without someone by their side, this person can make horrible choices that may involve suicide. If this person were to have a companion, the person can get talked out of any choices they are willing to take.
Another reason people need companionship, love, and affection is so they can find theirselves. Many people do not know their true selves because they have not had the chance to find out. When someone has a companion, they discover many different things about themselves, such as finding out if they are nice to others, if they are willing to share, or willing to feel comfortable around someone else. By doing so, they will be more open about things in the outside world.
One last reason people need companionship, love, and affection is so they do not feel alone. Many times people do not have that special someone to make memories with. Nobody wants to grow old by themselves and nobody wants to be alone at difficult times. A companion can help this situation.

The Worst Feeling.
A situation where someone can feel rejected is if they move to a new place. For example, a girl moved from Puerto Rico to Kansas City. She did not know one bit of English and had to go to school wondering how it is going to go. She went to school and was quiet the whole time because she was afraid of what people will think about her. The next day of school went by and she decided she would at least try to talk to someone with the little but if English she knows. She went up to a group of girls to introduce herself, but their countenance was in disgust to the way she was speaking. The girl was devastated. She went home and told her mom that she no longer wanted to go to school, so her mother signed her up in classes for English.
She was very quiet the next few months at school. After she finished her classes, she was still afraid to talk in school. Her mother finally convinced her to be strong and give it a shot. One day she went to school and saw the same group of girls walking around. She went up to the girls and started talking to them again, but once again they looked at her and laughed. The girl was not so sure why. She learned English so she can fit it but she still felt left out. She felt hopeless and depressed that she was getting rejected for no reason. Her mother also felt hopeless considering none of the girls wanted to be her daughter's friend. The girl just did not know what to do.
After a few weeks of being sad that the group of girls did not want to be associated with her, she came to a conclusion. She realized that she did not have to just try to be friends with that one group of girls, no matter how "cool" they were. There were so many other people in her school that she could have tried to be friends with. She experienced rejection like it should never be experienced. People should not be rejected because of where they are from or the language they speak. They also should not be rejected by the way they appear or the way they act. No matter how big or little the situation is, rejection can affect a person severely.
